We are excited to have you join us for Coastal Cleanup Day. Please fill out the form and we will email you instructions along with your Site Captain's contact information. See you September 16.
Calling all litterbug busters!
We hope that you'll join the Office of Natural Resources, Recreation and Senior Services Department at the City of Newport Beach for California Coastal Cleanup Day on September 16th! We'll be cleaning debris from three locations within Newport Beach: Corona del Mar (Big & Little Corona Beach), Balboa Pier, and the Santa Ana River. Please bring a signed copy of the California Coastal Cleanup Day 2016 Waiver with you or plan on signing one prior to participating. All ages are welcomed, but participants under the age of 18 require a parent/guardian signature.
In an effort to reduce the amount of single-use plastic that will be used at the cleanup, we encourage everyone to bring reusable buckets and gloves, though bags and gloves will be provided if needed. We also recommend that you dress appropriately for the weather, wear close-toed shoes, bring sunscreen and a reusable water bottle, and carpool! Also, if you will be requiring proof of participation for school or community service, please bring the appropriate paperwork for us to sign afterwards as we do not provide letters or other forms of proof. Last year we collected 739 lbs. of trash on California Coastal Cleanup Day! Join us this year and together we can keep our beaches and waterways clean, and keep our ocean healthy!
Minimum Age: All ages welcomed but participants under the age of 18 require a parent/guardian signature for the waiver and must be accompanied by their parent/guardian.
Volunteer Sign-In/Meeting Place: Mouth of the Santa Ana River at the corner of Summit Street and Seashore Drive.
Parking: Free parking along Seashore Drive or any adjacent street.
