CleanWaterFest
In order to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Clean Water Act, Orange County Coastkeeper threw quite a celebration in the form of a good old fashioned Oktoberfest, hence the name, CleanWaterFest – you need clean water to make good beer, right?! The Clean Water Act has been a fundamental part of improving the quality and health of creeks, rivers, and coastal waters by stopping billions of pounds of contamination from polluters. In honor of this historic event, Orange County Coastkeeper invited the community to enjoy craft beer, bratwurst, live music and the chance to mingle with some of Orange County’s most celebrated environmental advocates, philanthropists, and business leaders.
This fundraising event benefited Orange County Coastkeeper in their ongoing efforts to protect and preserve the marine habitats and watersheds of Orange County. Event admission included ten 5 oz. tasters of beer from microbreweries around the region. Food from an outdoor barbecue was available for purchase, and there were plenty of raffle prizes and giveaways. 82 cents of every dollar raised at this event goes directly to our efficient, high-impact environmental programs.
CleanWaterFest was held at Anthill Pub & Grille on the UC Irvine Campus on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 2 – 5 p.m. View event photos here!
Thank you to everyone who attended and showed their commitment to swimmable, drinkable, fishable waters for all of Orange County!
