As we're a non-profit, volunteers are our best friends!
WHALES Education Program
With 25-35 high school students per class, help is always needed! As Coastkeeper leaps into a busy fall with our Watershed Education Program, we are seeking any adventurous souls who would like to join our team on field trips. More supporting people on a field trip translates to more hands-on experience for our high school students. Please contact Briana Madden if you would like to get involved.
Exciting Water Monitoring Opportunities
Coastkeeper is conducting research projects to monitoring stormdrain runoff and nursery runoff in Orange County. We need people to go out in teams to collect water samples, and help out at our lab and office in Costa Mesa. No experience is necessary, we'll be happy to train you! Please contact Ray Hiemstra for more information.
Coastkeeper Garden
Do you have a green thumb or want to help out while spending time outdoors? If so, volunteering at the Coastkeeper Garden would be perfect for you! We are
seeking volunteers to help out with various activities within our garden. No experience is necessary and times are flexible. Please contact Wes Colvin if your interested.
Office and Development
We are always looking for creative help to raise more money for our programs. As a volunteer you could look for new grant opportunities and potential corporate funders, and help plan fundraising events. We also need help general office tasks such as bulk mailings. Please contact Briana Madden if you are interested.
MS Access Programmer needed to develop database for water monitoring project
Coastkeeper seeks the assistance of a skilled MS Access programmer to help us develop a relational database for the Orange County Nurseries Water Quality Improvement Project. This project requires the linkage of GPS coordinates where agricultural runoff samples are collected with photos taken of the runoff and results for field measurements and lab results of project parameters. We would like to be able to develop reports on a County-wide vs. individual nursery basis as well as differentiate between storm event and dry season results. Along with quantitative results, we would like to incorporate qualitative information on BMP implementation for our analyses. Please contact Wes Colvin for more information. |
