General Opportunities

WHALES Education Program

With 25-35 high school students per class, help is always needed! As Coastkeeper leaps into a busy spring with our Watershed Education Program, we are seeking any adventurous souls who would like to join our team on field trips.   We are currently working with 3 AP Environmental Science classes, a service learning class, and two outdoor clubs, and expect to expand through the summer and into the next school year.   More supporting people on a field trip translates to more hands-on experience for our high school students.  Please contact Miho Umezawa or Briana Madden if you would like to get involved; we have field trips planned for weekdays and weekends in the coming months.

Exciting Water Monitoring Opportunities

It's a brand new year, and for Coastkeeper that means the start of two new research projects monitoring stormdrain runoff and nursery runoff in Orange County.  We will need people to go out in teams to collect water samples, and help out at our lab and office in Costa Mesa.  No experience is necessary, we'll be happy to train you!  Please contact Ray Hiemstra for more information.

Office and Development

We are always looking for creative help to raise more money for our programs.   As a volunteer you could look for new grant opportunities and potential corporate funders, and help plan fundraising events.   We also need help general office tasks such as bulk mailings.  Please contact Jamie Rimphanli if you are interested.
