Orange County Coastkeeper has trained thousands of students and citizens through public meetings, educational events and promotional campaigns. Here are just a few of the ways Coastkeeper spreads awareness about water quality:
WHALES: We've trained hundreds of local high school students to be "Watershed Heroes" by providing opportunities for field trips and research projects.
Community events: Coastkeeper reaches out to children and adults alike with educational booths at various events such as California Coastal Clean-up Day, Earth Day, and World Water Monitoring Events
Public Meetings: When we have important information to share with the public, Coastkeeper holds public meetings where citizens can hear about our projects and results and contribute their opinions.
June 6, 2008: Ocean Day Kid's Adopt-a-Beach Program
Coastkeeper brought over 500 elementary students to Bolsa Chica State Beach for the event, including a beach clean-up and aerial art project.
