Eelgrass Restoration Volunteer

Coastkeeper is working to restore eelgrass in Upper Newport Bay. Eelgrass beds are important habitat for lobsters, halibut, oysters and other marine species. If you are interested in volunteering a few hours this summer to help us with this restoration project, please send your phone number and e-mail address to or call 714-850-1965. No experience necessary, training will be provided.

Mandatory Training Date: June 28, 2014 from 1pm – 3pm.

Restoration Dates: July 11-14 and 18-21. Morning Team: 9am – 12:30pm; Afternoon Team: 1pm – 4:30pm. 
You can volunteer for one or more time sessions.
