Harvest Landscape Summer Education at the Garden

Please join us at the Coastkeeper Garden as we partner with Harvest Landscape for a series of free educational workshops addressing a variety of topics related to Orange County landscapes.

Each workshop will be held at the Coastkeeper Garden, our unique and beautiful demonstration garden adjacent to Santiago Canyon College. The garden features six California Friendly vignettes that can be used to transform landscapes to harmonize with sustainable practices and native plant habitat.

Speakers will include Harvest's team of experts, Steven Schinhofen, Doug Kokesh and Don Saunders, along with an occasional guest.

About Our Speakers

Doug Kokesh Doug Kokesh is a 23-year certified arborist and natural resource specialist who has worked extensively with public agencies such as the Arizona State Land Department, Humboldt State University, and multiple municipalities to manage urban and natural forests. He holds a degree in forestry/multi-resource management from Northern Arizona University and is working toward an MPA in organizational leadership from Chapman/Brandman University.

Don Saunders is a longtime industry professional with expansive experience creating and maintaining rich and diverse urban landscapes with award-winning results. Educated in ornamental horticulture and landscaping at Cal Poly Pomona, he spent many years directing and managing the 120-acre grounds of Knott's Berry Farm, overseeing a variety of landscape vignettes that had to be both resilient and beautiful.

Steven Schinhofen is Corporate Executive Officer and President of Harvest Landscape Enterprises Inc., a family-owned business that has grown under his leadership to become Orange County's recognized leader in custom-built landscapes, water conservation and sustainability. Harvest's award-winning work has been featured in professional journals and has received industry and government commendations for outstanding conservation results and design.
