Do you want to help out our ocean, coastline, marine life and community? Orange County Coastkeeper offers a wide selection of volunteer and internship opportunities throughout the year. Activities can range from spending the day doing a beach cleanup or collection water quality samples to community outreach or marketing.   • Mill Creek Clean up
    Want to help out in the Inland Empire? Volunteer to help out and remove and inventory debris within Mill and Chino Creeks in the Prado Basin.

Internship Opportunities:
The Coastkeeper volunteer internship is extensive and fulfilling where volunteers will get to learn and grow more than a typical itnernship opportunity.  A Coastkeeper intern will gain experience that will further your education or career search, and provide a high profile reference for resumes and job applications.  As such, the expectations and responsibilities for interns are similar to those found in a standard job setting. The minimum commitment for an official internship is 100 hours.

  • Film & Media Production Internship
    Coastkeeper hosts a film & media production internship program, with the goal of training the next generation of film makers and film editors by providing “real-world” experience related to environmental issues. While working at Coastkeeper, film students research and investigate issues, develop stories, film interviews, edit content, update our website and work on large media platform.

  • Law & Policy Clinic
    This competitive legal internship program with the Coastkeeper Legal Department has the hopes of training the next generation of environmental attorneys by providing “real-world” experience in the field of environmental advocacy.  Through this semester long internship, law students learn the intricacies of environmental law and how local, state, and federal regulations impact the environment and the people who rely and enjoy our beautiful inland and coastal areas.

  • General Internship
    Interning with an environmental non-profit like Coastkeeper can open doors by providing experience to college students and individuals pursuing new career paths. As a general intern, you may focus on a specific project that is timely and piques your interest, or you could delve into a variety of tasks throughout your time with us.   You might work in areas such as scientific research, advocacy, event planning, marketing, education, website editing and the Coastkeeper garden.   • Grant Writing / Marketing / Communications Internship
    Coastkeeper is looking for assistance in our fundraising division.  As a non-profit, much of our funding comes from our marketing. We need assistance in retrieving contact information for potential donors, media contacts, and writing grants.  We ask that our volunteers come a minimum of 5 – 10 hours a week.
