Creek and Channel Cleanups

It is estimated that 60-80% of the trash & pollution we find along our shorelines and coast, comes from a variety of inland sources.

As a part of our Cleanup OC program, Coastkeeper hosts inland cleanups. These cleanups include creek and channel cleanups and are aimed to remove the debris before it pollutes our beaches.

Creek Cleanups

Coastkeeper hosts Creek Cleanups throughout the year across Orange County in OC Parks. Check the calendar for the next event.

Santa Ana Delhi Channel Cleanup

In 2017, Coastkeeper joined the Adopt-A-Channel program and manages a one-mile portion of the Santa Ana Delhi Channel.  This channel empties directly into Upper Newport Bay, carrying trash and debris into threatened and endangered habitats.

Coastkeeper runs channel cleanups for small groups (5-15 people) throughout the year. For safety purposes, cleanups are limited in size and scheduled according to proper weather conditions.
