Help improve local habitat and native oyster populations by building oyster shell strings for our marine restoration program! Volunteers will be asked to drill dried-out shells and assemble them on metal strings. Interested volunteers must RSVP prior to the event due to limited capacity.

Shell strings are habitats that we use to grow Olympia oysters, California’s only native oyster species. Olympia oysters are an essential component of our coastal ecosystem due to their ability to filter water, stabilize shorelines, and provide habitat and food for many other species.
