DROPS

Orange County Coastkeeper partnered with Garden Grove Unified School District (GGUSD) and ClimateResolve to establish the Education and Outreach portion of DROPS: Drought Response Outreach Program for Schools.

Three GGUSD schools, Santiago, Bolsa Grande, and Los Amigos, were retrofitted with Low-Impact Design and Best Management Practice features to capture and treat stormwater as part of the State Water Resources Control Board’s (SWRCB) DROPS grant program.

Students from the participating high schools learned and performed stormwater monitoring and analysis with the help of teachers and Coastkeeper staff.

This is no longer an active program, but we were grateful to have had the opportunity to join GGUSD, SWRCB, and ClimateResolve in providing students with this unique learning opportunity.
