Kalilla Soeweno
Education Coordinator

Kalilla’s passion for environmental stewardship was sparked at an early age while growing up in Jakarta, Indonesia. Since moving to the United States for college, she’s studied and researched environmental science and public policy at the University of California, Irvine, and Shoreline Community College.
During her time at Shoreline, she conducted a public policy analysis on the effects of groundwater extraction and land subsidence in Indonesia and presented her findings at the University of Washington Research Symposium. At UCI, she deepened her hands-on experience as a Field Study Fellow and Research Assistant with Water UCI.
Kalilla joined Orange County Coastkeeper in the Fall of 2025 as an intern, where she discovered a passion for environmental education and the profound impact of connecting students to the natural world around them.
In her free time, Kalilla enjoys spending time at the beach, pottery making, and drawing.
