A Treasure Hunt in the Coastkeeper Garden

By July 25, 2019 Blog

Our Coastkeeper Garden is full of surprises and treasures everywhere you turn. Did you know that we have our very own geocache?

Geocaching is a global treasure hunt that utilizes Global Positioning System (GPS) and the Internet to find caches in beautiful and unique locations as a recreational experience. In Orange County, there are thousands of geocaches waiting for you to find including a small one hidden in the Coastkeeper Garden.

Geocaching is simple:

  1. Create an account: Create an account online or through the Geocaching® app to view a map of geocaches near you. Find a place you’ve never been to explore new parts of you community.

  2. Find a geocache: Use the app to navigate to a geocache nearby – some are easier to find than others, but that’s part of the fun. Don’t forget to bring a pen.
  3. Share your experience: Once you find the geocache, sign and date the logbook. You can also trade knick-knacks found inside the geocache. Place the geocache back where you found it and log your experience online.

Want to join in on the treasure hunt fun? Come to the Coastkeeper Garden Wednesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and be on the lookout for our top-rated geocache. If you’re just looking for something fun to do, our Garden is the perfect spot for a picnic as well.
