Earth Day, originally a one-day grassroots movement in 1970, has now blossomed into a month-long celebration of the beautiful planet we call home. No Earth Month would be complete without showing some love to our water, which covers roughly 70% of the Earth’s surface and sustains countless species, including us.

To celebrate, Orange County Coastkeeper is hosting and participating in eight events this month! From volunteer opportunities to craft workshops to seafood specials, there’s something for everyone. Scroll down to find an event perfect for you.

Beach Cleanup & Sustainability Fair

Saturday, April 18 | 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Join us at Huntington State Beach to celebrate Earth Month by restoring our coastline and inviting new growth!

Coastkeeper staff will guide volunteers through a beach cleanup and native plant workshop, where participants can sow provided native plant seeds in small pots.

A huge thank you to Beach City Sports and Plaine Products for sponsoring this cleanup! We’re also excited to welcome SoCal Sea Turtles, Kelp Ark, Kerckhoff Marine Lab, Metropolitan Water District of OC, and OC Conservation Corps as partners in this celebration.

Please RSVP using this link. We hope to see you there!
