Orange County Coastkeeper has joined forces with Surfrider Foundation to host the Orange County People’s Hearing on December 8 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Costa Mesa.
Community members will unite to display their support for protecting Southern California from new offshore oil and gas development. The event program will feature an educational presentation; comments from community leaders, groups, and businesses; and opportunities for public engagement.
The Department of the Interior has announced new offshore oil and gas plans for California and other U.S. regions in the next five years. The threats to our community and state from offshore oil and gas development, including potential oil spills, are not worth the risk. Community members are advocating for the protection of our coastline, coastal economy, and a clean energy future.
