Since 2005, we’ve helped students across Orange County connect with their environment through hands-on scientific field trips.
Our programs fill the gap between concepts students learn in the classroom and issues they experience in the real world – at no cost to students or schools.
Since the start of our educational programs, we have expanded to a variety of programs for students of all ages, including:
• W.H.A.L.E.S – Coastkeeper’s year-round education program for middle and high school students in Orange County.
• DROPS – Coastkeeper’s Drought Response Outreach Program for Schools, which trains high school students to monitor stormwater.
• Kids Ocean Day – An annual celebration and call to action for the protection of the world’s oceans.
• Kids Care – Coastkeeper’s solutions-based marine debris education program for elementary students in 3rd through 5th grade.
All of these programs provide opportunities for students to get outside and learn how to keep our waters healthy. After 12 years of our education programs in action, we’re celebrating these incredible milestones:
• 30,374 students reached
• 81 schools served
• 557 field trips
• 575 in-class lessons
Thanks to your support, these numbers continue to increase every month. You can help more students discover their role in protecting our waters by donating today.
